A pair of semi-detached villas in Tulum, each carrying a lock-off unit that can be let independently of the main house. Brick, board-marked concrete and arched openings are set around a lap pool in green tile. Delivered as a complete set of ground, upper and rooftop plans with a bilingual room schedule.

Process

The lock-off arrangement is the whole brief — one house has to work as two addresses without either feeling like the leftover. That gets decided in plan, so the plan set was drawn in full and scheduled in both languages for the client in Mexico.
